Sanitising & Hydrating Wine Barrels using Dry Steam

Delivering steam at 180oC at 9-10 bar pressure will make light work of removing tartrates and sanitising your barrel investment, environmentally friendly, a temperature of over 100ºC (3 phase) is reached in less than 2 minutes and the entire process is completed at your desired length of time ie 10 -30 minutes

The use of only water and dry steam being used and no chemicals, means there’s no wastewater to treat.

The Model 310BC is a heavy duty industrial 3 phase 20 Amp steam machine capable of cleaning two wine barrels at the one time, fitted with a dual auto shut off timer per probe. Simply set the desired time to steam the barrel from 0 – 60 minutes and the Model 310BC will do the rest…piece of mind, no need to constantly check and every barrel steam cleaned at the same time and rate as set…creating a consistent outcome. Delivering steam at 180oC at 10 bar pressure will make light work of removing tartrates and sanitising your barrel investment, environmentally friendly.

Steam Vapour is an excellent all-natural cleaner, ideally suited to wineries. It destroys all bacteria and leaving the barrel dry, ready for immediate use. Maintaining and treating wine barrels with high-temperature steam vapour instead of a water rinse, sterilises the barrel, and kills all traces of mould and bacteria. Brettanomyces or “Brett” can impart a clinical or “first aid cupboard” taste to the wine once contamination reaches an advanced state.

 

Treating & Maintaining Used Barrels

Used wine barrels over a season or more- need different management to new barrels. If the barrel is being emptied of wine and refilled immediately, all that is required is cleaning with one of our specially designed wine barrel cleaning machines, to suit the workflow and barrel count of your winery.
